I fear I must offer a correction: THE SHRINKING MAN was filmed not as THE AMAZING TRANSPARENT MAN, but as THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MAN. The latter was made in 1957 by Jack Arnold (director of such classics as IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE, CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON, REVENGE OF THE CREATURE and TARANTULA), with a script by Matheson himself.
